They’ve recently launched a combined exhibition programme in the Ice Cube (Sir Duncan Rice Library), showcasing treasures from the University’s rare books, archives and museum collections and as part of evaluating their top priorities they want to hire an intern to help increase marking and advertising potential.
As intern, you will assist with the marketing projects for 3 upcoming exhibitions and associated events programmes in the Sir Duncan Rice Library: ‘Canaletto in Aberdeen’ (opening 21 Jan 2019), ‘East Asia’ (opening 16 March 2019), and ‘Audubon’ (opening 9 Sept 2019).
You’ll gain invaluable experience both of the workings of a museums/archives and rare books exhibition programme and public engagement service, and of developing and delivering a marketing strategy.
If you want to apply you must be a registered undergraduate student and expecting to graduate in 2020 or 2021.
They are looking for an enthusiastic, creative student with an interest in museums and archives. A specific academic subject is not important, though the internship might be of interest to students of history, art history, archaeology, or history of science. So if this tickles your fancy then you can download all the information here – Good Luck!
