Who we are

The History Society is quickly growing into one of the largest, most active, and most successful of the AUSA societies. We are not just for History Students but anyone who wants to expand their interests, meet new people, join a social or two, and maybe learn something new!

  • We have a successful bi-weekly lecture series on Thursday afternoons. This is free and open to all. We also organise mentoring events (exam revisions, essay writing, dissertation support and more) to boost your academic confidence after the year and a half of online learning. We also have a brand new undergraduate journal, the Aberdeen Historical Review. The first issue coming on the 20th of September!

  • For those mainly craving some social events, we have a range of kickass events such as pub crawls, castle trips, movie nights, debates, tours, medieval baking sessions, quiz nights, book discussions, BBQs and more. Whatever is your jam, we have it!

  •  In the current COVID climate, we want to change as little as possible. We will ensure that you can still meet loads of people regardless of whether you drink or not, you like to travel or not, and whether you are in Aberdeen or study online. We will ensure we have a packed event list to keep you occupied, let the steam out or when you desire something different. There is nowhere else to be but here!

Aberdeen Historical Review

The Aberdeen Historical Review is a brand new undergraduate academic journal initiated by History students.

The Editorial Board is thrilled to announce the publication of the first issue on Monday, the 20th of September.
